Natural Remedies
Alternative medicine has been used by people in other
cultures for many years. Some treatments are very
effective for some people. Others may only work because
the patient believes they will work, much like the way
placebos sometimes work in medical experiments. However,
we believe that the more you know about the options, the more
you will be able to make intelligent, informed decisions about
the medical treatment, which may be right for you and your
particular medical conditions.

Products & Natural Medications
Air Ionizer -
An air ionizer is a device commonly used
by those with respiratory illnesses, such as asthma. The
device uses a high voltage to electrically charge air
particles, and often have fans to push air through the
charging mechanism. Ionized air particles attract allergens,
which cluster together and then due to their weight, fall
and settle out of the air.
Many individuals who suffer from respiratory diseases claim
that air ionizers help to relieve and reduce their symptoms
a great deal. Care should be taken when choosing an air
ionizer, to ensure that it does not produce ‘ozone,’ a
chemical whose inhalation is harmful. Other products that
remove allergens from the air safely and effectively include
high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters and
electrostatic fibers.
HEPA filter –
A high-efficiency particulate air filter
helps to remove allergens and harmful air particles from the
air we breathe for those with respiratory problems or who
hope to help themselves avoid such problems. These filters
are commonly installed in air conditioning and home
ventilation systems, to remove particulates from the air as
they are drawn through the system. HEPA filters have no
negative side effects and can be very helpful for those who
suffer from respiratory conditions.
St. John’s wort –
St. John’s wort is an herb that is best known for its use in
the treatment of mild depression. In its natural form, St.
John’s wort is a yellow flowering plant that is both
invasive and noxious to consume in its entirety. However,
the extract of St. John’s wort generally exhibits few side
effects, and most importantly helps to improve the moods of
those who suffer from mild depression. In Europe, where the
plant originated, St. John’s wort is often prescribed by
physicians as a treatment for depression. In some countries,
such as Ireland, a prescription for St. John’s wort extract
is required, but in most countries including the United
States, it is available over-the-counter. St. John’s wort is
considered both a cheaper and more natural treatment for
minor depression.
White willow bark –
White willow bark has been used since for thousands of
years, dating as far back as the ancient Egyptians. The
first written record of white willow bark as an effective,
natural medicine comes from Hippocrates thousands of years
ago. He described a bitter powder extracted from the bark of
a tree that reduces fevers and eases pains. The bark when
discovered in the 19th century became the basis for aspirin
that is taken today. Today, extracted white willow bark
still offers the most natural medication to reduce pain and
reduce fevers. Further, white willow bark has been known to
cause less stomach lining irritation than traditional
over-the-counter aspirin medications. White willow bark has
the same effects and chemical properties as aspirins, and
should be used with the same precautions.
